This website is my online portfolio of photography
and design, and it is where I am posting music and other digital experiments as time goes on. This
is an informal site - look around and feel free to send feedback.

have not been updated in months! Here's the part where I say that it will
be updated really soon. OK, now that that's out of the way...
Photo
Restoration & Retouching
The original quality of damaged and
faded old photographs can be brought back through digital restoration. Remove
surface damage like dust, scratches or tears, or unwanted picture elements like
facial blemishes or braces from color or B&W images. From a scanned and restored
digital file, a new archival photographic print is created through the normal
chemical process (process RA-4), which insures archival quality and an authentic
look. This digital process is very accurate. This method is also ideal for staging
unlikely scenes like a group photograph of incompatible pets. If the source photos
are taken under similar conditions, the effect is seamless. More

I am always looking for unusual views of ordinary subjects. Pets are my favorite
subjects because of their variety and because they often look and act human. I
also do portraits of individuals and groups, as well as publicity photographs
for entertainers, and I handle product, architectural, aerial, and copy work for
art portfolios. I use professional quality films and papers and offer both 35mm
and medium format photography done in-studio or on-location. I
like natural outdoor settings and lighting. The best light is diffused light,
the kind that happens on an overcast day, even when it is lightly raining. Bright
sunlight is the least flattering light in most cases, especially for portraiture.

Graphic
Design & Illustration
Moxie, Ben & Jerry's, and Led Zeppelin all effectively integrate typography
and graphic design in order to define themselves and remain memorable
(these are other designers' campaigns which I admire, I mean).
A strong visual identity makes a big difference. I have an arsenal of
typefaces from the sublime to the ridiculous and a wide range of ideas
to bring to the drawing board. Logos, letterhead, business cards, menus,
sign designs, album covers, ads...whatever. More

Design
I am webmaster for mvyradio internet
radio on Martha's Vineyard. I do this full time and have no other web
projects besides this one and mvyradio, but I can point you in the right
direction if you want to contact me.

experience: screen printing, framing, photo lab tech, graphics & web design.
Assisting experience: location scouting photography and assisting for
Mark Seliger.
My photography has been published in the Martha's Vineyard Times, the
Vineyard Gazette, Punchline Magazine (Richmond, VA), boston.com, mvyradio.com,
carlysimon.com, and elmpost.org.
Recent projects include photo work for Brooks Pharmacy, and illustration
for MIT's HETE II space satellite.
I live in
the Suburbs not far from Boston.
